The series is based on the LDS microfilms of the original records which were filmed at Ludwigsburg. There were about 800,000 people who emmigrated from Wuerttemberg and the microfilms cover about 10% of them. Each entry in the index has name, birth date or age, birth place, Oberamt [district town] where and when applied for emigration, region of destination and LDS microfim number. The original records on microfilm will be hand written in German and contain additional information of upto 8 pages. The films are organized by Oberamt and generally by date but the pages are not numbered. Kent Schach
