Betreff: A letter from the Listowner

Dear Subscribers,

it's now nearly 10 months ago when I take over this great list from
Gabriele and still have fun with this job. The behavior on the list
is always very friendly and a lot of thankful messages tell me that
we're on the right way. Please keep in mind that the list lives
with your inputs. I just do a small background job in keeping it
running, the major work will be done from the 680 subscribers!

A few word to me: My full name is Raimund Michael Pantel, everybody
know me as Mike. I'm 35 years old and born in Kirchheim/Teck
south-east of Stuttgart. I grow up near Stuttgart and study
electronic engineering in Esslingen. At the moment I work as the
marketing manager inside a daughter company of Bosch in Stuttgart.
My hobbies are my two sons, a motorcycle and genealogy. I started
my researches with the Ahnenpass of my great-grandfather and keep
up his work living.

About the list: Please be sure that I will pick up all the requests
regarding the list and subscribing/unsubscribing questions. If
somebody have problems with that, I can check with several
utilities on the listowners webpage. Since now, all the problems
that people have had with the list are solved.
Although I will keep the list clean of any spam and attacks. Right
now it was not neccessary to "close" the list for subscribers
only. Hope that I do not need to use this feature in the future.

In the near future I will reactivate the "Show & Tell" procedure
again. I just found the last database of surnames again and will
bring it back to the list. A new mechanism of how to send your
own surnames will be established and the database is sent to the
list more frequently. See my next message for more details.

Another idea is still growing in my mind: A frequently asked
question database. I saw many similar questions in the past which
easily can be collected in such a FAQ text. For this project I
will search for a volunteer on the list who will pick it up. If
you're interested in doing that important job, please send my an
email to discuss the details.
