The metric system since 1795 is the standard in France, since 1872 in Germany, later in all european countries. Nearly all big countries in the world use this system - except of the USA. My opinion is that every body should use the system he/she is most familar with in private terms. If somebody want to measure length with "his" foot - why not? The standard is actually the metric system as I mentioned above. So for a discussion group like this the people must know how to convert from their own system to metric. I will continue to send informations in this most common system because all of the documents found in Germany (and this is the region you all researches) uses the metric system. To avoid conversion problems I think it's the best to use a common base.
