1. Memorandum, Jadkreis [not known whether this was really a county as such, but evidently, from other records, it had the special mission of processing emigrations for the Oberamt], Oberamt Schorndorf, 29 April 1832, concerning the emigration of several citizens. Much of the covering memorandum is very difficult to read, but a gist can be derived.

The shipping agent Georg Kuhnle from the Archduchy Baden will in the next days escort a party of 162 persons who want to travel to North America from Heilbronn to Amsterdam, and thence by ship to North America.
The shipping agent Kuhnle asks the minister for the originals of the pertinent certificates to take with him to Amsterdam, apparently as in consequence of a request from Amsterdam, validated in Stuttgart.
[NB: this would explain the lack of the municipal minutes and renunciation of citizenship documents in the Schorndorf files. What follows, an attachment to the memorandum, appears to be an abstract of those documents and contains most of the pertinent details.]

The following persons from the Oberamt district are emigrating to North America with the permission of the ___ office, and are making their way via Heilbronn then through Royal Netherlandisch territory.
1. Eva Dorothea Schäfer, single, from Steinach, 20 ½ years old, possesses assets of 100 guilders (fl.).
2. Christian Gottlieb Jergler from Schorndorf, 28 ½ years old, with his wife Christina Friederika nee Legg, 33 ½ years old, and his child Ch___ Friederika, 4 yers old. Jergler possesses assets of 300 guilders.
3. Johann Gottlieb Lemberger from Grunbach, 53 years old, with his wife Elisabetha Magdalena nee Hottmann, 48 ¾ years old and his 5 children: 1) Elisabetha Catharina, 20 years old 2) Carl Michael, 13 ½ years old 3) Johannes, 11 4) Johann Jakob, 8 ¾ 5) Christian Heinrich, 6
